FAQS

HAVE SOME QUESTIONS?

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

How does a custom-home builder differ from a volume builder?

The main difference between the two is custom-home builders are generally who specialise in unique builds, with each home they build have something unique in its design. A custom-home builder can design and prepare plans based on your specific requirements and site or build from plans provided by the client giving your creative freedom. Volume builders operate by providing a range of standard designs they work with. They are generally not client specific, so don’t allow for layout flexibility.

How many inclusions do we have?

We have 3 standard inclusions for our clients. We have separated them according to our clients so our first inclusion is called COMFORT; it is mainly for First Home Buyers & Investors where the budget is limited but they will still get a lot of features included.

Then our second inclusion which is called LIFESTYLE; is for families that want to have more features and upgrades as we have covered the majority of the upgrades in this inclusion.

Then our final inclusion which is called N-Series; is a higher end home with many upgrades.

How long does it take to build?

The construction time for a project will vary depending on the complexity of the development and the level of finish. Honeycomb Homes will be able to give you a timeframe during the initial consultation after reviewing your building documents in detail.

Will I be kept up to date during the building project?

Communication is key and working in partnership with our clients is critical to our success. Regular email updates will be provided to client by building supervisor to keep you informed about your project process.

What type of contract do you offer?

HoneyComb Homes is a member of the Master Builders Association (MBA) and the Housing Industry Association (HIA). These organisations offer building contracts that comply with laws governing residential construction in Victoria.

We use HIA contract for all our clients and from our experience, we have found that this works very well for all parties involved.
